Winter table with Charleston Stems

February 12, 2016

A really playful table with the amazing Charleston Stems brightening up a winter’s afternoon. We used these Hermes dessert plates and Ralph Lauren blue glasses set the tone for a colorful scene.  A splash of hot pink in the napkin complemented was picked up in Anne’s selection of flowers:   ponies, ranunculus, poppies, snap peas, tulips, scabiosa and licorice vine. The West Elm mercury votives seen below soften everything nicely.

Anne used Kumquats in her arrangements, they ripen in late winter and are perfect to bring color and warmth to a table when it’s chilly out.   Although best used in jellies, an adventurous guest might be tempted to try a bite.  The sour fruit contrasts with the sweet peel, I’m told that it is a treat that should be enjoyed whole!

Coconut cupcakes from Charleston’s own Sugar Bakeshop seemed appropriately sweet for this colorful party.
