First and foremost, I hope everyone is staying healthy during this very challenging time. My heart goes out to everyone , especially those who are facing difficult decisions and having to postpone or even cancel their wedding celebrations planned for the coming months as the situation with COVID-19 unfolds.
We were due to launch registration for The Wedding Lab late last week and decided to take a pause as things seem to be changing from moment to moment. After careful consideration, our site is officially live (yay!) and we still plan to launch with our first full week of content delivered on Sunday, April 12th.
And of course, as all of the content is digital, The Wedding Lab is a perfectly safe way to start planning the wedding of your dreams. We will offer everything that are learning about how to proceed with cautious optimism, build a plan that is flexible, and how to assess and handle some of the more time-sensitive elements such as finding your wedding dress and booking a venue. We will also address changes to the industry in the aftermath of COVID-19.
Finally, we will modify our content to address what is clearly emerging as the top priority with any large gathering: how to keep your guests safe and practice some forms of social distancing, even if you are planning a wedding for much later this year, 2021 or beyond –- especially as we just don’t know what the long term effects of the pandemic mean for the most vulnerable members of our community.
In the meantime, please know I am committed to providing you with updates and advice that I receive from industry experts. I will share all over on @theweddinglabofficial so please invite your friends who are getting married –- next week, next month, no matter when -– to follow along if they wish, even if they are not planning to participate in The Wedding Lab. You can read my tips for rescheduling your wedding over on @bridalmusings here.
I know we are in an unprecedented time. Planning a wedding is stressful enough without living through a pandemic. I am here to chat through anything or brainstorm ideas. By opening the lines of communication and supporting one other, we will get through this. Together, we can bring some joy back into what should and WILL be an incredible time for you as a couple and get through this together! See you @theweddinglabofficial.
