Elegant Halloween Table, Gold & Cream!

October 13, 2017

I have been collecting gold and cream pieces for the holiday season.    It started after my love affair with green kicked in this fall, and I felt that it would be really pretty to set a gold and green table.   This is the evolution of said project, and it has melted into cream and gold, which I feel is softer, very elegant and sophisticated without feeling too stuffy.   You could easily replace the pumpkins for feathers (and maybe pinecones) for a Thanksgiving look, or dress it up a bit more with sparkly gold napkin rings, clementines and a garland for Christmas, maybe even some poinsettias in the background.   I ordered these placemats in the mail and I LOVE (I mean LOVEEEEEEEE) them, I plan to collect the silver too.   They will last for so many seasons; they are timeless, classic, festive pieces and the first thing I would grab off of this table.   Trust me, so grown up!!!!  I also LOVE these glasses, they are very pretty and and on sale!!

It hasn’t exactly been “fall” in Charleston so I was particularly excited to find these leaves at the florist; we are bringing the seasons forward at home!  Those of you who live in the Northeast or somewhere the leaves are turning could easily forage a few bunches outside, I find it a very elegant and easy way to fill a large vase; whether it sits on the entrance or dining table, it provides a lovely backdrop.

These marbleized glass pumpkins are also so pretty and not too trendy (so will work well next year).   They make a pretty flowerless centerpiece on the table but also sit well on the mantle surrounded by votives.  We wrapped these white (real) pumpkins in gold balloons to create a “dipped” effect which I think works quite well.  I would advise grabbing some larger balloons if you are trying it on a normal pumpkin!  xx
