We kicked off 5 year celebrations on the blog earlier in the week but had to push our plans back a bit because the boys are both under the weather. We were actually due to fly to Miami en famille to celebrate but decided it better to stay home and rest. Feeling a bit stronger today, we decided to head out for a celebration lunch at one of our favorite sunny spots on Sullivan’s Island. We laughed as we sat down because before the baby was born, I think we came at least once a week. We would spread our work out on the table and sit for the whole afternoon — a form of office, the restaurant staff were always very accommodating! We have only been back for lunch a handful of times but it is still such a treat and Baby R enjoys it a lot too. He flirted outrageously with another baby, danced to the music and ate some delicious pizza. All in all it was a great success.
It also happened to be one of those really delicious winter days in Charleston — sixty degrees, sunny and blissful. This time of year is such a reminder of why we love to live here, the proximity to the beach and sunshine are essential for us. I can already picture spring evenings on the porch, the city in bloom and long lingering evenings outside. We wished so much to be outside, we took a walk around the Island after our celebration lunch and carried on lounging in the park near us afterwards. I think it helped everyone feel a lot better. It was the perfect way to drift away an afternoon and to mark our milestone with our most important little guy.
Thank you for all the anniversary wishes, the final post will be about our goals for the next five years! xxx
