We had the most fun at the Garden & Gun Jubilee two weekends ago. It was my first time attending (we have been out of town the past few years) and for those of you who aren’t familiar, it’s a weekend event held by the nationally acclaimed local magazine “which showcases the essence of the magazine — a colorful mix of sporting, curated shopping, music, art, Southern food and live entertainment.” I’m planning to dedicate a post to our experience because it was so wonderful but in brief, we were able to attend a talk with Robert Harling, the writer of Steel Magnolias (incredible), and a few dinners around town and of course the festival itself. Needless to say, we LOVED it. It was one of my most favorite weekends we have had in Charleston. I wore this dress to the New Orleans dinner on Saturday night and felt really pretty in it. I think it’s such a fun dress to collect because it can be worn throughout the seasons — I can imagine throwing it on over a bathing suit for a beach lunch or wrapping it up in a camel coat in winter, like I did on Saturday.
Here we are at the dinner below. Chassity Julia and I went with our husbands. Not pictured is lovely Stacy from Hampden who came with us!! We had an amazing meal prepared by New Orleans based chef Justin Devillier and followed by a night of dancing to the most fun Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Not to mention the boomerang booth which we spent perhaps an embarrassing amount of time in (my idea). Thank you to Garden & Gun for hosting such a spectacular weekend and thinking to include us. xx
