This was the first weekend in ages that we didn’t have anything going on and it was glorious! It feels so great to be back in Charleston, even for a short while, and we had a weekend of catching up on everything: friends, work, play, sleep, etc. We had dinner with friends both nights and managed to exercise Sunday so feeling back in the game! On Friday we went out but Saturday was in and we set a lovely little table on our front porch, tiki torches included. We woke up with a craving for mexican food and made local peach margaritas (thick and frozen, perfect for the heat) and various light tacos. We were so lucky to have a beautiful breeze wash over us and we ended up sinking into the daybed until well after midnight, enjoying the cicadas and flickering candlelight.
I love how glowy this table gets; the combination of the pink table cloth from Roberta Roller Rabbit, the bougainvillea and the candles make for the picture perfect vibrance which I so love and strive to create in our entertaining environments. We still have to decorate our back porch (which is screened in so ideal for summer) and this evening inspired me to create a similarly beachy bohemia out back. We took all of our cooking cues from the Sprouted Kitchen (a blog which I have followed for years and LOVE — it has never failed me). This recipe was particularly delightful. I felt inspired to cook again, or at least to pick our recipes for Will to make for us. All in all, a very refreshing weekend!! xx
