A Blackberry Farm Wedding

January 25, 2020

We had the pleasure of photographing an exquisite wedding at Blackberry Farm this past July. One thing that we really admired about MK, Bob (bride, groom) and their families was how much they seemed to enjoy the wedding weekend; they set the tone for celebration in the most gracious and inviting way. They welcomed their friends and family with full attention, relaxation and joy, making sure that everybody felt included and special — easier said than done after months spent planning!

MK & Bob kicked off their celebration with a rehearsal dinner under twinkly lights by the water. People often ask us how to handle toasts for the wedding day and I love the format they choose: to have their friends and family give speeches that evening (thereby leaving dinner on the wedding night uninterrupted) before a live band had the crowd dancing the night away under the stars. MK wore a perfect, easy white Zimmermann dress (found at my best friend’s store Hampden no less!!!) with her hair pulled back, she looked elegant, bridal and relaxed (a girl after my own heart!). Bob, you looked perfect, too!!!!

Without wishing to give too much away as the wedding will be up on one of our favorite wedding publications soon, I’ll share a few highlights from the day below. MK wore the perfect Oscar de la Renta fern gown, the floral arch from Floressence flowers was something to behold, guests dined in the candlelit barn and then danced all night to one of our favorite bands (Party on the Moon), and then MK & Bob sped off in a 1964 convertible Jaguar to exploding ground fireworks…!!!!
