Hi!    Thank you for being patient with us while we took a week away!   It was the first time that we had taken such substantial pause since launching this site just one short year ago.   We photographed a huge wedding with Easton Events, followed next day by a trip to Pensacola, Florida with Garden & Gun and the morning after we returned home, I had surgery!  So, onwards!  We are back with full energy and excitement; with a bit of time away,  we were able to reflect on what it is we are up to here and I am excited to bring you some fresh ideas and series.   First up, Collector’s Corner — a series we will be posting on Mondays in the coming weeks.   The series is an extension of one of our most popular posts, A Beginner’s Guide to Collecting.

I inherited a love for collecting from my mother and grandmother and I always have my eye on estate sales, online auctions and other great resources.    This is where I will share that knowledge with you, and I will of course welcome conversation about where you find the best pieces, so please do share in the comments below.   Here are a few pretty plates and sets which I have my eye on:

Of course so much of what we rely on day to day are the more mainstream but equally pretty items, like these etched glasses and these votives.     Another goal of this series is to introduce you to smaller brands which I admire.   May this be a place for discovery!   Please let me know if there is anything specific you would like to learn about, or perhaps there is a brand that you so love and would like to introduce us to.
