Stepping Into Spring

April 4, 2018

This is my favorite time of year in Charleston.    The days are longer, the sun is shining and it’s not too humid or buggy.   We have been spending every drop of the day that we can outside and are particularly enjoying sitting on our front steps while our son plays with the neighborhood children until the sun goes down.    It was the most glorious day yesterday and I was struggling to sit still in the office so Will and I decided to take a quick stroll before heading home.  We’re really enjoying having the office and are finally starting to get into a bit of a rhythm.   I love walking to pick up our coffee in the morning and taking in the beautiful rows of houses.

Charleston is in full bloom right now, we can almost smell the Jasmine which should be coming any day now…. it’s hard not to feel so lucky to live in this sunny, flower-filled city.     Now that we don’t live downtown, it’s such a treat to stroll South of Broad and feels like a little afternoon vacation.   Charleston surprises me sometimes in that it feels so European —  I can go for weeks without going to the epicenter of downtown and then am always so pleasantly surprised when we do.   I am also reminded of how hot this city is about to get and have been stocking up on white linen shirts which will come in handy until throughout the spring and summer months.

I find that a skirt and white button down is the perfect spring work uniform and makes getting dressed in the morning so easy — I really don’t like to think about it too much (which means that sometimes it can also go terribly wrong ;).     We’re kicking off our wedding season this weekend with Easton Events at Palmetto Bluff — so excited about it and hoping for equally spectacular weather… xx
