We celebrated my 30th birthday last weekend and had the most amazing time! It was super relaxed with family, and we took our first swim of the season at Sullivan’s Island followed by a massage and dinner at my favorite restaurant — lovely! Will surprised me with a follow up date at another favorite on Tuesday night. We have been talking about implementing a ‘date night’ as a weekly event for ages but with all the travel, it kept getting pushed back. We love being home in the evening and baby bedtime is my favorite time of day. We do think it’s important though to spend time just the two of us, feeling like adults, and to keep exploring this wonderful city. New restaurants open weekly here but for this particular night we visited two old favorites, Zero George and FIG. Here we are on a rainy evening cozied up on the most comfortable piazza at Zero. Because of the stormy weather, we had the place all to ourselves. It felt was particularly romantic with the lanterns, balmy air and sound of the pouring rain.
I love the way Zero George lights up in the evening, it is so inviting and cozy and feels much more like you’re in someone’s home than at a hotel. The cheese plates are not to be missed! I had forgotten that we usually bring a pack of cards with us to play while we’re having drinks (not dinner) which might sound childlike but can be really fun. I have been wearing this red dress quite for every evening activity, it is so comfortable it feels like wearing pajamas and makes one feel instantly pulled together. I know that I will be wearing it in the fall and winter too!
This picture made us giggle because it’s a little bit prom-like but we panicked and only took one! Still, it’s lovely to have a shot of the two of us from such a memorable evening!!
